Part of my photo project Thrift Shop Hell, documenting weird and wonderful thrift store finds from the Upper Midwest.
This was at one of the antique shops I visited today. There was a little tag around its neck, labeled—mysteriously—REFRIGERATOR PIG.
It’s photosensitive and oinks when you shine a light at it. It is, apparently, from Radio Shack (there’s a panel on the bottom of it that says so, and also confirms the “Refrigerator Pig” designation.)
I guess you…put it in your fridge? And then it oinks when you open the door? I assume that’s the point of a light-sensitive, oinking, awful “refrigerator pig,” but—why?
There are so many things I don’t understand about this.
